Family Update

The girls are back to school.

We have added a new arm to our ministry- Girl Power! We are now offering women the same kind of ministry that we have offered the men for the past seven years. We are glad to have pioneered this. Waturi is teaching this class currently at ICC.

Oasis Publishers Dinner- Tuesday 2nd May 2023

DC Tala – Thursday 4th May 2023

Deliverance Church Tala invited me to speak in their Angaza Youth & Teens Conference. I was tasked to preach four sermons between 8 am and 7 pm with breaks in-between. It was quite a task! The first sermon was 1 hour long. The second sermon was 2 hours long. The third session was 2 hours. The final evening session was 1 hour. The six hours of preaching left me spent. The church was very generous financially. I made many good friends. I arrived home at 11pm, tired but fulfilled.

Rusinga School – Wednesday 10th May 2023

Rusinga School invited me to again to speak on the LGBTQ movement. This time I addressed the teachers and staff. We focused on how to respond to students who are engrossed in the ideology. We also spent time addressing how to help teachers and staff who were struggling with their sexuality. It was a fruitful meeting.

Boy Meets Girl Volume 19 – Sunday 14th May 2023

We held the 19th edition of Boy Meets Girl. The venue was CITAM Valley Road. The theme was Practical Passionate Purity. The guest speaker was Boniface Nyoike Ng’ang’a. We had a great turnout of young people from all over the city. Boniface Nyoike did a fantastic job. The session was full of life and God’s presence. The testimonies from the attendees were equally powerful. I prayed with a certain young man who was battling homosexuality. He was selling his body to older men in exchange for money to pay rent and meet his needs. He was indoctrinated into the LGBTQ lifestyle and has struggled to leave. On this Sunday he was on the way to sleep with a certain man who promised him to pay his full rent. When he was on the way, he heard a voice tell him to alight the bus and enter CITAM Valley Road. He was compelled by the voice and he obeyed. He entered CITAM Valley Road and found Boy Meets Girl. He was surprised to hear us talk about sexuality. He sat down and listened. He was convicted and came forward during the altar call. He confessed to me everything. I asked him if he was a Christian. He said he was not. I shared with him the gospel and he gave his life to Christ. I prayed for him. As I did, his whole body trembled, and he let out a long deep breath. He fell on the ground and cried incessantly. I prayed against the sexual ties with all the people he slept with and again his body trembled vehemently. After we were done, I gave him my phone number. This is just but one of the dozens of testimonies that our team witnessed on this day. To watch the entire BMG session, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz2Qqm0ccWU

Powerhouse & Girl Power at ICC Church – May 18th & 25th 2023

International Christian Centre partnered with The Relationship Centre Ltd for a seven-week purity program for men and women. We are running Powerhouse for the men and the equivalent for the women that we are calling Girl Power. We have about 200 men and women in total. The first two sessions went really well. We are keen on completing the remaining 5 with power and grace.

Deliverance for C – Friday 19th May 2023

A girl by the name C in her early twenties came for inner healing and restoration. She had been battling depression and regret from sexual relationships she had been involved in. She confessed openly and repented in the prayer session. She forgave her offenders and we proceeded to pray against the ties between her and the people she had fornicated with. In the middle of the prayer, she felt a strong chokehold on her neck. The more she prayed, the looser the chokehold felt and she let out a heavy breath. She experienced a tremendous amount of relief and admitted that she felt like a new person after submitting the matter to God. We are schedules for one more session with her to complete the inner healing and restoration process.

Speaking to young couples at Mamlaka Hill Chapel – Saturday 20th May 2023

Mamlaka Hill Chapel City and Ruaka campuses invited me to minister to the newly married couples in their congregations. The couples event was held at Mamlaka Hill Chapel Ruaka. In attendance were couples who had been married 0-5 years. I took them through the topic “Practical Love and Practical Submission” inspired by the book Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs.

Deliverance for E – Tuesday 23rd May 2023

A girl by the name E in her early twenties came for inner healing and restoration. E had been gang raped and had not disclosed the matter to anyone but a close friend. She blamed herself for the rape because it happened at an event she was cautioned about. The incident affected her self-worth and confidence. She had come full circle and was ready to forgive the rapists and turn over a new leaf. She prayed prayers of forgiveness and also of repentance for when she had wronged the LORD. I received a positive report from one of her family members who referred her to our ministry. She told her family member that the shame and guilt she had been carrying had lifted that day and she felt like a new person.

Dinner at Deliverance Church Mount Zion – Friday 26th May 2023

Pastor Steve Turungah of Deliverance Church Mount Zion in Machakos invited me for the church’s premier singles dinner. I travelled to Machakos and stayed at Seo Hotel. The church was gracious to host me and take care of my bills. The hotel was splendid. The time with the singles was fantastic. We had a great interactive conversation on selecting a life partner.

Mini Powerhouse at Grace Point Kikuyu – Saturday 27th May 2023

Grace Point Church invited me for a mini session of Powerhouse. On this day, I met the men of the church for the first session. We examined the importance of living a life of purity by looking at the lives of Joseph, Reuben, Samson and King David. The church gave the session ample time and we fleshed out the topic really well.

TESTIMONIES

Good evening, man of God. I hope you are doing well in the Lord. I am also doing well. I thank you for walking with me through this journey. I have managed to go for three weeks now without masturbating and without visiting the pornographic sites. I thank you for walking with me. Also, I have improved on my prayer life and on reading the word. May the lord bless you abundantly. I ask that you pray for me that the lord may sustain me and walk with me. I desire to know him more. Thank you and may the lord bless you.

MINISTRY UPDATES

Because of the heavy ministry work, we have decided to do our podcasts on a fortnight basis.

Our book Baesics was pirated by a member of our previous premarital class. We caught the person and they apologised, claiming they did not know converting the ebook file to PDF was illegal. We made keen follow ups and ensured that all traceable illegal copies were deleted.

Our Nissan Xtrail has gobbled up copious amounts of money this past month. We suffered a severe mechanical breakdown that cost us 68,000 KES in a week. The car has been fixed, by God’s good grace, but it has drained us financially. Pray for restoration of the money back to the ministry.

Our next premarital class has started. It will take place between 4th June and 6th August 2023. Interested persons can register here: www.penstrokes.co.ke/couples/

We have innovated a new board game. We are calling it “Logos: The Ultimate Bible Board Game.” Logos is an idea that started in 2017. Over the years, while doing youth ministry, we noticed a few gaps in the mission field. From a general observation, biblical illiteracy seemed to be on a steady increase, especially among urban youth and teens. Some had access to the scriptures but struggled to draw out their power for everyday living. Our time in the mission field has proven this fundamental truth to be solid- that intimacy with the scriptures is a vital weapon in a believer’s struggle against sin and pursuit of righteousness. We have given the people we have ministered to statistics on the benefit of scripture consumption and even taught them how to do a personal quiet time. But nothing has driven the point home like the charades game on the Bible that we started giving in 2017. With time, I developed the game into something more challenging that would spur individuals to know their Bible better and have competitive fun at the same time. I borrowed a few ideas from some popular board games we know and made our own unique version. After several test groups and feedback notes, we finally came up with LOGOS. Logos is a Greek Word that means God’s divine revelation. We have a board, a maximum of five teams, a timer and an explosion of fun that will make you want to really rev your Bible knowledge engines. It is a great resource for family devotions, hangouts with friends, holiday plans, church retreats, youth camps, and game nights. Logos is available for 4900 KES. You can get your game by sending 4900 to Mpesa Paybill Number: 204 634 Account: Logos (It will read THE RELATIONSHIP CTR). Once you make your payment, fill in this online form and we shall deliver the game to you: https://www.penstrokes.co.ke/logos/

“Logos: The Ultimate Bible Board Game” is trademarked by the Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI) under class 28 (Goods and Services section- Games and Playthings). It is also a copyrighted work by the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) in the artistic works category.
